It was an unusually warm evening, and the living room was bathed in the soft orange glow of the setting sun. The curtains were lazily drawn halfway, allowing splashes of golden light to cascade across the room, illuminating the plush cream rug where Owen sat, his back against the sofa. Chloe was leaning against a stack of comfortable pillows, her bare feet brushing his knee playfully. Owen met her eyes, maintaining the contact that sent a wave of heat straight to his core. He could feel the smile playing at the corners of her mouth even as their lips parted and met again.

With a soft, teasing whisper, she suggested they shed the layers separating them. Owen’s pulse quickened as he helped her out of her shirt, drawing her back in for another long kiss as he felt her bare skin against his. Chloe's fingers deftly undid his jeans, and soon they were forgotten on the floor beside them.
