Flickering Flames

The living room was dimly lit, the glow from the fireplace casting a warm, flickering light across the plush sectional sofa where Alex and Emma settled in. The soft fabric felt inviting against their skin as they nestled close, Alex's arm draped lazily around her shoulders, pulling her in tighter.

Their conversation had flowed easily, but now, a comfortable silence enveloped them, broken only by the crackle of the fire. Alex leaned over, capturing her lips in a deep kiss, the kind that always sent a ripple of heat through him. He could feel Emma respond, her body shifting slightly, pressing closer, the kiss deepening with an urgency that made his heart beat faster.
