The bedroom was dimly lit, the soft glow of the lamps casting a warm hue across the plush duvet where Dylan and Kate lay intertwined. The room smelled faintly of lavender from the diffuser on the nightstand, a calming counterpoint to the tension building between them. Dylan loved these moments — the quiet anticipation, the way the air seemed to thicken with promise.
