Morning Awakening

The bedroom was bathed in soft morning light filtering through the sheer curtains, casting gentle shadows across the duvet. Ethan was already awake, resting on his side, watching the subtle rise and fall of Paige's chest as she slept. He smiled, remembering the conversation they'd had about trying something new, and reached, almost instinctively, for the blindfold they’d left on the nightstand the evening before.

When Paige stirred, Ethan leaned in, brushing his lips against her temple. “Good morning,” he murmured, his fingers tracing the edge of the blindfold. Paige shifted, blinking sleepily but intrigued, a hint of a smile playing on her lips when she saw what he held.

“Are you ready?” he asked, gently helping her sit up. She nodded, curiosity and a thrill of the unknown stirring in her belly. Carefully, he wrapped the blindfold around her eyes, securing it with a soft knot at the back of her head. As her world faded to darkness, every other sense seemed heightened — the soft fabric against her skin, the warmth of Ethan’s body nearby, the scent of their shared space.

Ethan kissed her softly, letting his lips trail down her neck, each touch deliberate and unhurried. She hadn’t expected the blindfold to make her so much more aware of each sensation — the way his fingertips grazed her sides, the whisper of his breath against her skin. He guided her back onto the bed, settling himself between her legs.
